I am enjoying the way much of the old love ballad and rock ballads are being redone. The new mix of voices and sounds really does justice to the music. It is interesting to hear the monster ballads of years gone by and to remember where you were when you listened to them and to notice where you are now. I find it helps me to see how far I've come and how far music has come too. We have such music talent out there now. They seem younger than the musicians who sang the love ballad of years ago. Michael Buble has done very well with his mix of old and new. Old ballads redone with a sort of jazz feel to them. One of my kids just got back from a concert of his in Calgary and couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Josh Groban is another musician who has taken the older love ballad and made it sound new and fresh by singing it in English, Italian and Spanish. He is my personal favorite. It's good to see that ballads are still around and popular again.
